Course Objectives

  • Increase the impact and outreach of your innovations by focusing them on real users’ needs and pain points
  • Design inclusive solutions that take special needs of marginalized groups into account
  • Connect Human-Centered Design methods to your current validation and feedback collection processes

Course description

  • Module 0: introduction to the HCD course. In this course we will give you an overview of the HCD process and its importance.
  • Module 1: Planning for HCD – scope. In this course you will learn how to define the problem and context effectively, plan your user research, and choose the appropriate data collection methods to answer your questions.
  • Module 2: assessing the problem space – explore. This course is about methods to understand the problem space and how to make sense out of your findings
  • Module 3: using your insights – create. This course is about transforming insights from the ground into design decisions and prototypes.
  • Module 4: validate and implement your innovation. The last module is on how to test your prototypes with real users, and best practices when finally brining your solution into the hands of users.

If you have completed any of the modules we kindly ask you to complete the following survey which should take less than 5 minutes. This feedback is extremely valuable for us and it will help us to keep on improving our offering
